Car Count Daily
Hi shop owners. Thank you very much for joining me on this edition of Car Count Daily. My name is Ron Ipach, but you can call me Captain Car Count, because that’s all I’ve done for the past 20 years, is help thousands of auto repair shop owners, just like you, to get and then keep all the top-quality customers their shops can handle.
Now I’d like to start off today’s episode by asking you a question that I actually already know the answer to: have you ever asked the parts guy or the tool guy how business was going for other shops in your area? Now you probably asked this question when business kind of sucked, right? If you got plenty of cars in your shop and you’re making sales and you’re making a high profit hand over fist, you’re most likely not comparing yourself to everybody else, right? It’s typically when sales are down, car counts down, and things aren’t looking as good as they should.
That’s when you’re concerned with, are you the only one or is this happening to everybody else? I’m here to tell you stop asking that question. Stop looking around what’s happening to other shops and only pay attention to you because you control your destiny here. You are the ones that are watching every episode of the Car Count Daily, and hopefully you’re taking action on everything you’re learning.
You probably have a coach. If you don’t have a coach, make sure you do get a coach because a coach is going to help you get to the next level. You’re the one taking the action. You control your own actions. You control your own destiny with your shop. Don’t compare yourself to the other shops that are out there because the majority of shops are not watching my videos, and if they’re not watching the videos they’re certainly not taking action on the car count tips that I’m giving them. They’re not taking action and listening to the motivation that I try to give on these videos.
Chances are they don’t have a coach. They’re kind of flying by the seat of their pants and they’re just letting things happen to them. Don’t compare yourself to those shops. Compare yourself to you. Look at what you could do better to control your destiny because look, the wheel is in your hand. You’re the driver. Start driving that business. If things aren’t going good right now, look at what you can do to make them better. Don’t let the feeling of misery loves company.
If things aren’t going good for you, at least it’s okay because it’s not going good for everybody else. Get that out of your mind and understand it is up to you to make these changes to get your business to where they need to be.
I hope you start taking action on these things and understand the destiny of business, the amount of money you’re going to make, the amount of car count, the amount of freedom, that’s all in your hands. Don’t compare yourself to anybody else. Compare yourself to you.
