Live Sales Training We’re Putting Together
Hey shop owners. Welcome to another edition of Car Count Daily. My name is Ron Ipach, but you can call me Captain Car Count, because that’s all I’ve done over the past 20 years – is help thousands of auto repair shop owners just like you to get and then keep all the top-quality customers that your shop can handle.
Well, it’s here. We’re just rounding out the last of my two week vacation. I have just a couple more days here at my condo down here on Clearwater Beach. I figured I’d go ahead and shoot this quick video above for you because the idea popped in my head because I just finished up the second of two books that I read during this vacation. Now I actually don’t read them, I like to listen to them, thanks to an app called Audible. But even though I totally unplugged from my business, I never called into the office one time, the office never called me, so it was a true getaway from the shop vacation, I still paid attention to my business and learning.
I heard a long time ago there’s a saying called, “School is never out for the pro,” and I’ve really lived that all my life, therefore, I never stop learning and that’s really what it means. Look, if you love what you do, your income is derived by what it is that you do, and the minute you stop learning is the minute you stop earning. Even though I’m on vacation and I’ve unplugged from my business, I didn’t unplug from my life.
I’ve also listened to and watched about a half a dozen really kick-ass videos on marketing, business leadership, profitability, and anything that’s going to help me propel my business further. If you want to have a really nice vacation, you have to have a really well-run business that pumps off plenty of money so you can go do what you want, when you want, with whomever you want. And never think that it’s time to stop learning, so even when you’re on vacation, and even when you’re away from the shop, always be learning, always be watching videos just like this, always be learning new things. Start listening to or reading books, start watching videos, and get immersed in that and never, never unplug from it, because again, if you unplug from that, you unplug from the one thing that’s going to help you get to the next level in your business and in your life.

The first part of my career was as a firefighter. I taught the fire academy and that was one of the saying I would use a lot, except in the fire service, it was: “The day you stop learning on this job is the day that you die.” It was very true in the fire service and very true with this business.
