Car Count Daily
Hey shop owners, welcome to this edition of Car Count Daily. My name’s Ron Ipach, but you can call me Captain Car Count, because that’s all I’ve done over the past 20 years, is help thousands of auto repair shop owners, just like you, to get and then keep all the top-quality customers that their shops can handle.
Now I bet you’re wondering what I’m doing in my car, in a driving rainstorm, recording the video above. Well, it’s to prove a point. Don’t worry about it, I’m not driving. I’m actually stranded in the parking lot because on my way to the office I had the convertible roof down. It was a bright, sunny day when I left the house. But I had to stop halfway on the way to the office because it started to pour. As a matter of fact, I was still a little bit wet in the video. I didn’t have time to get the top up in time before it really started to pour.
That’s really the topic of today, is when it rains, it pours.
Specifically since this is a marketing video, and this is all about car count, that’s exactly what happens with your car count isn’t it? Sometimes depending on the time of the year, or the time of the month, or what’s going on, it’s pouring. You have more car count than you know what to do with, and in other times, nothing is happening for your business to profit. It has just dried up, and you never know what’s going to happen. The key is, you always continually market your business, because you never know what’s going to happen.
I, for example, left the house on a bright, sunny day. By the time I made it to the office, which is only a 15 minute drive from my home, things totally changed. Same thing happens with your business. There’s a warning in that, that don’t get fat and happy because things are going good. But there’s also, depending on the situation you’re in, a lot of encouragement in that same message as well. No matter where you’re at right now, things can change, and they can change very, very quickly for you,.
I want to encourage you if things aren’t going so good. As long as you’re doing what you need to do. Hopefully you’ve been paying attention to these daily car count videos that I’m giving you, and the blogs, and all the information that I’m giving away to you, and you’re taking action on them. You know eventually it’s going to start pouring customers. Hopefully not too much that you don’t know what to do with. But then again, like I said before – don’t get fat and happy. If things are going great, you never know what’s around the corner. See, success isn’t something that you own. Success is something that you rent, and you rent it every single day. Every day when you wake up you never know what’s going to happen, and you’ve always gotta hustle. Hustle, hustle, always keep moving ahead.
Don’t assume that things are going to go great all the time, because a storm can be right around the corner, just like it was for me in the video, and you’ve got to be prepared. The more marketing strategies you have in place, the more prepared you when the storm does happen.

One thing that I have done in the past is when i get slam with cars because other shop are back up is to keep names and phone numbers of the customers that come into my shop. Then when I get slow I will call up customers and say, I have not seen your car in a while would you like to bring in for an check up. Before you know it I slam again. It really works. Thanks for all you do.
