Hi shop owners and welcome to this edition of Car Count Daily. My name’s Ron Ipach but you can call me Captain Car Count, because that’s all I’ve done for the past 20 years is help thousands of auto repair shop owners, just like you, to get and then keep all the top quality customers that your shop can handle.
Now today we’re going to talk about doing the difficult things, you know what I’m talking about. The things when you learn something new that just confuses you or the things were you would normally say “Oh there’s no way in hell I’m going to do that.” Those are the things that you need to be doing. Let me explain.
Let’s just talk about doing videos, for example. A while back I did a five part series on actually doing videos for your shop and how much it’s going to help you and in talking with shops owners ever since, a lot of them say “Oh that’s all well and good, but that’s not for me. I’m not going to be able to do that. I’m not going to look good on camera, I won’t know what to say, I don’t know how to do that.” They understand it’s a great idea, but then they run for the hills when it comes time to actually do it because it’s not them. It’s either because it’s too difficult or they just don’t want to go through the hassles of doing it.
Well let me tell you, from talking with thousands and thousands of shop owners doing lots of seminar, everybody’s saying the exact same thing. You know those difficult things they shy away from. Even though they’re going to help their business because they’re too confusing or too much of a pain in the butt to do, they won’t do them and there lies your big opportunity because if other people don’t do them and you’re one of the few people that does utilize the strategy, you’re going to be way ahead of everybody. You get to reap the rewards that come with adopting the new technologies, adopting the new strategies especially when it comes to marketing. I mean how confused are you about search engine optimization or buying google ad words or doing Facebook advertising or cloning your best customers to find the perfect person to mark it to.
Those things take a little bit of time. They take a little bit of knowledge and they take a lot of work and that’s the reason why most people don’t do them. Well there’s your opportunity. There’s no competition in doing these sorts of things, so I’m going to tell you, your body and your mind is telling you. If it’s telling you to run, run as fast as you can away from this strategy that’s a good signal to say, I should be doing it because everybody is going to run from it. If you run to it, you’re going to get all the opportunities that lie ahead in the new way of marketing your business. This isn’t easy. If it was easy everybody would be doing it and if it was easy everybody would be able to reap the rewards and it’s just not so.
Do these difficult things. Do the things that might confuse you. Just power through it and figure it out, or we’re here to help whatever you need and let’s just get it done because that’s where your opportunity, money, and car count is. It’s in doing the difficult things first. Not the easy things. Everybody does the easy things. Do those difficult things and you’ll have what everybody else doesn’t have.
