Car Count Daily
Hi shop owners. Thank you very much for joining me on this edition of Car Count Daily. My name is Ron Ipach, but you can call me Captain Car Count, because that’s all I’ve done for the past 20 years, is help thousands of auto repair shop owners, just like you, to get and then keep all the top-quality customers their shops can handle.
On today’s episode, we’re gonna have a little bit of fun with our brand new electronic white board that I have behind me. And I’m going to be talking about, as promised in a previous episode, the car count cycle of success, or as I like to also call it, the holy grail of marketing. If you understand this, marketing becomes very easy and possibly very, very successful for you.
So, if you’re in a shop; if you have a clean sheet of paper, grab it. If you have a pen, grab it. And, write down these four words I have on the screen right here. Number one; Potential. Put that at the top. Then you put action, results, and belief. Potential, action, results, and belief. I’m going to talk about each and every one of these things. Now let me just kind of tell you about the origin of this car count cycle of success. I saw a recoding of Tony Robbins do something very, very similar to this when he talks about the success mindset. I’ve taken his ideas, I’ve modified them specifically for your belief as it pertains to car count, because I think the two go hand in hand.
Lets first talk about potential. Potential is key; you have to understand that there are plenty of cars out there to do work with, but they’re just not in your shop right now. So, if you’re struggling for car count, if you need more cares to come to your shop, understand it’s not for a lack of cars in your area, it’s just that they’re in your competitor’s shops, not in yours. If you drive around any single day in your area, there are cars sitting on lifts in all of your competitor’s shops. They’re not in yours. So understand they’re out there to be worked on, you just need to do whatever it takes marketing wise to get them to come to your shop.
So you have to understand that the potential for your slice of the pie, no matter how big it is or how small it is, depending on how many cars you could actually handle at your shop, there’s a potential, or more than enough potential, to fill up your slice of the pie. So it starts right there, you have to understand that. You have to come from the abundance mindset rather than the scarcity mindset if you want this to work for you.
If you understand that there’s a lot of potential out there, how much action are you gonna take to get those cars to come to your shop? I’m going to guess a lot, because you know they’re out there, you know they’re sitting in your competitors shops right now; you need to do whatever it takes, take a lot of action to get them to come to your shop. So, if you understand that there’s a lot of cars out there, chances are you’re gonna take a lot of action. Now, it’s important you take the right action. The things I talk about on these car count daily videos, the things I’m talking in my upcoming car count 2.0 course, that’s going to be released coming up very, very shortly.
I’m going to show you a lot of the right actions to take to grab these cars and get them to come to your shop instead of going to your competitors. Understand, lots of potential, so of course you’re going to take lots of action. Then, if you take a lot of the right action, what kind of results do you think you’re gonna get? Well, if you’re taking a lot of the right actions, you’re going to get a lot of the right results. You’re going to get a lot more cars coming to your shop. Now you’re going to get a little bit more excited. So what’s that going to do to your belief system?
It’s going to cause that to go up, right? You’re starting to think, hey wait a second, there isn’t a scarcity of car count out there, there’s plenty of cars. Now I know how to go out and get them. I’m getting plenty of them to my shop; now your belief system is going to the next level, and when your belief system goes to the next level, and you start seeing the results that you’re getting by taking the good actions, you understand there’s probably a lot more potential out there for you. See, that’s why it’s a cycle of success, because it can spiral up and get you really excited, and you get a lot of results when you’re heading in the right direction.
But a little bit of warning here, you can go in the wrong direction very, very quickly with this too. So let me explain it from the scarcity mindset. Those of you that might be struggling with or wanting to argue that, cars are made better, so you’re not able to get them to come to your shop, and you’re looking for all of the reasons why you don’t have enough car count. So let’s look at it through that mind set okay? And I get it, I understand; you’ve been kicked in the teeth enough over this, but if you’re not getting the cars in there, it’s really hard to realize that you have a lot of potential right? I get it, I understand. But, let’s look at what happens.
If you don’t think that there’s a lot of potential to get cars to your shop, how much action are you really gonna take? I mean seriously, how much action are you going to take if you don’t think that there’s a lot of cars, a lot of extra cars to come to your shop, chances are you’re going to take little or no action at all. Or, you’ll just be going through the motions you know? There’s a way to make a sale and get somebody to come to your shop, and there’s a way to kind of repel it like, well you wouldn’t want to fix your car would you? So that’s the wrong kind of action on this. So if you don’t feel that there’s a lot of cars out there, you’re probably not going to take a lot of action; and what’s that going to do to your results?
Well, they’re going to be pretty crappy right? Very little action, very little results, now what’s that going to do to your belief system? It becomes that self-fulfilling prophecy doesn’t it? See, I told you there’s not a lot of cars to go out there. I tried, I ran one ad, or sent a thousand postcards and that didn’t work. So I got really crappy results, so there must not be any cars out there. So now your belief system is now in the toilet. And if your belief system goes in the toilet, what’s that do to your mindset over the potential to get more cars in your shop? See what’s happening is your swirling down, just like a turd in a toilet. You’re swirling down, and you get that shitty attitude over the amount of cars that you can get to your shop. Over the car count abundance that is out there.
So, if you start with a lack, in other words, you say there’s not a lot of cars; it’s a self fulfilling prophecy. It’s going to go down. That’s why I said it starts with the belief on the potential. And understand, you’re just trying to get your slice of the pie, there’s plenty of cars out there. You just need to get your slice, and then you need to take massive action. The right action that’s going to give you the right results you’re looking for, and then your belief system starts to skyrocket and you understand your potential goes up. And let me help you understand, if you know that there’s an unlimited amount of cars that are out there, unlimited for your shop; you can’t handle everybody; but you know you can fill your cars with shop.
Does that make you feel better? Does it make you have a little bit more excitement for the future? Does it maybe even get you thinking, man, I could open up another shop, because there’s plenty of cars out here and I now know how to get them. I know the actions to take, I can see the results. I believe that this is a great business to be in. And the potential keeps going up and up and up. I hope this helps. Understand, it all starts with right here. If you’ve got that abundance mindset, you are going to take the action, you will get the results, and your belief system just goes up.
