Car Count Daily | Edition #36
Welcome to another addition of Car Count Daily. My name is Ron Ipach, but you can call me Captain Car Count, because that’s all I’ve done for the past 20 years, is help auto repair shop owners just like you to get and keep all the top-quality customers you can handle.
On today’s episode, as a matter of fact for the next five episodes this week we’re going to be talking about what I believe to be the up and coming way of marketing your auto repair shop. It’s in the future, but it’s not the future. It’s actually happening right now, but so few auto repair shop owners are utilizing this strategy that it might as well be the next big thing. What is that? It’s video. It’s exactly what you’re watching right now. It’s exactly the media that I’m using right now to get my message to you. That’s exactly the same media that you should be utilizing to get your message to your current clients and your future clients. Over the next five episodes, I’m going to be talking all about video.
Why? First and foremost, video builds trust. I cannot tell you how many people email me and message me and when they see me at a seminar they say, “Hey, I watch all your videos. I feel like I know you. I feel like you’re a long-lost friend. I know everything about you,” because they watch my videos. Take notice of that. If you feel you know me a lot more than you did before, maybe you’ve been getting my emails for years, maybe you’ve been getting my sales letters for years, but now that you see me on video you feel like you know me a lot more. Don’t underestimate the power of the trust that it builds in your prospective customers and your current clients. Video adds a totally different dimension when it comes to your marketing.
The next thing is 69% of people would rather watch a video than they would to read a message. You can tell them all the reasons why you’re the company to do business with. As a matter of fact, watching reviews, they’d rather watch a review of somebody saying why you’re a great company to do business with rather than read the review. People tend to trust and they like watching videos a lot more than they do reading. It’s just the sign of the times. People just want to watch a quick video.
What’s really cool about videos as well is when somebody watches a video, they’re more likely to remember it than if they just read it. As a matter of fact, some studies are showing that people remember what they’ve seen on a video up to 30 days. If you have a great message that you record for your auto repair shop, it’s going to stay on their minds for 30 days. Think about that. All those distractions people have all the time, they’re going to remember your video. That’s really important that you start looking at this media of using videos.
Plus, 200% to 300% more people are more likely to click your email to go watch the video than if you don’t have a video at all. They’re a lot more engaged with you when you have a video on your site or use it in your email. A lot more people are more likely to click that, and if they click it, now you’ve got their eyeballs, now you’ve got their time. That’s really, really important, because when you get their eyeballs, when you get their time, Google loves that. When you put a video on your website, you’re a lot more likely to go to the top of the list because people are spending more time on your website. People are searching, they’re finding you, and they’re finding you because you’re higher ranked in Google. Google owns YouTube. YouTube is like the 800-pound gorilla when it comes to hosting the videos, and Google owns YouTube, so of course the two work together. There’s a whole lot of reasons for just being found online to have videos.
This is like the precursor. I hope you understand I want you to start recording these videos. You might be scared. You may not know what to do. You may think, “Oh, there’s no way I can record a video.” That’s what the next four videos are going to be talking about. We’re going to be talking about, first off, the equipment that you need. It’s very little. Matter of fact, you probably own the equipment already. Then we’re going to talk about what should you talk about on these videos. Then we’re going to talk about how to actually go about shooting the video, how to prepare for it, how to put together a really, really good video that engages your audience. Then, finally, we’re going to talk about how to get it up online and where you want to have it so it gets seen and it starts to help your business so it helps you become a lot more trusted authority. People are seeing you everywhere they go online, and they will then start showing up in your shop.
This is number one in a series of five videos all about video this week. Hope you’ve enjoyed it, and I will see you on the very next video where we’re going to be talking about the very simple equipment that you’re going to need to start using videos to start crushing it online and getting a lot more people to pick you to be the shop that they want to do business with.
Thanks very much for watching this episode. Oh, by the way, please go down below the video, leave me a comment, ask a question. I respond to every one of them. I love seeing the comments, good or bad. Just let me know that you like, or don’t like, what you’re seeing.
